Durbar fights for the basic human rights for the marginalized and the oppressed communities e.g., sex workers, transgender and indigenous people across the country. We have been working with the deprived tribal community living in abject poverty and misery within the territorial limit of West Bengal. Quiet naturally, we felt an urgent need of printed materials to reach out to masses, to make people aware, to fathom their sentiment, to create support group from among them, eventually generating a strong public opinion in our favour. And it was a humble beginning with a leaflet named Bar Bonitara Bolchi published in 1993. Thirty years have passed since then. We have vibrant support groups not only in the country but across the globe also. The demand for publishing books and printed matter grew day by day. Apart from publishing books Durbar always try to pen down on different issues. And the best thing happened in the forum of the emergence of some writers from among the community people. There are several others who are gradually gaining enough confidence to scribe their journey of life in black and white. Till date we have published forty five books to our credit. We are publishing a monthly magazine named Durbar Bhawna since May 2009. The journal deals with socio-economic cultural elements focusing women as central theme. The section is enriched with variety of books, Souvenir, Brochure, Video Documentary etc
